What's on at Péchauzi

Art Week - 14th to 21st September 2019

We are holding an art week run by Marilyn Hughes. Marilyn Hughes SBA is a contemporary Botanical Artist working in Oil Based Coloured Pencil and Graphite Pencils.

Marilyn's love of flowers and gardens, together with her flower arranging and floristry skills made possible the natural progression to Botanical Art. After using most mediums she found that oil based pencils with a mix of graphite was to be her chosen medium. Painting in Oils and Acrylic is also a firm favourite. With these three mediums she combines the vibrancy of colour and accuracy into pieces of work bringing them to life.

Marilyn has been teaching pencil for the past 30 years at venues such as Cirencester College, Bristol Botanical Gardens, Nature in Art, GACG Summer School and various clubs as well as running her own workshops. Her superbly finite detailed drawings have been admitted and exhibited nationwide.

Guided Walks/Wildlife Breaks

Jonathan will be taking guided walks around the local area, to highlight the variety of flora and fauna of this beautiful part of the world. We will also be offering wildlife breaks too so guests can immerse themselves in natural history including birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, entomology (lepidoptera, coleoptera etc), and botany etc. There will also be lots of opportunities for nature photography. Péchauzi also benefits from ‘Dark Skies’ so there’s a great opportunity to see starlit skies full of shooting stars, planets, milky ways and satellites etc …
